Gorillas and chimpanzees are similar on all topics but not completely the same. You’ll learn from this essay how they are similar or different.
Gorillas and chimpanzees are very different but similar in some ways on physical appearance. Gorillas are 5 ft 5 in-5 ft 9 in tall and 310-440 pounds. Chimpanzees weight 90-115 pounds and are 3-4 feet tall. Gorillas are big, strong and pretty flexible. Chimpanzee’s are small, long limbed and very flexible. They both have black fur and have the same facial appearance. However, chimpanzees tend to be more of a ground animal compared to gorillas. Gorillas and chimpanzees get around by knuckle walking. Which is using your hands and legs to move. But, gorillas are known as vicious apes. But gorillas hardly ever attack. Instead they make noise. Chimpanzees are very aggressive. Usually male adults. They are known to be very territorial and kill other chimpanzees. They might also kill lesser species of primates and use there “corpse” (Lets not go into gruesome detail) as a social tool.
Gorilla’s and chimpanzee’s habitat are very alike. Due to the loss of most of the habitat they lived in they now mostly live together. They live in tropical rain forest in the clearings and low-level land or swamps. However, Chimpanzees don’t usually like open land.
The gorilla’s and chimpanzee’s diet are alike too. They both are both herbivores and like to eat fruit, leaves, tree bark and flowers. But they also like to eat ants and termites. But they don’t drink water mostly. Because they get the water they need from there diet.
See, They have some differences and similarity. But they are both at the top of the primates.
